Legislative Clerical Support Staff

The Office of Legislative Council of the Vermont General Assembly has an opening for the position of Legislative Clerical Support Staff, to assist with formatting and proofreading of bill drafts, data entry, and other office support for the legislative session only, typically from December through May each year.

The Legislative Clerical Support Staff helps to support the bill drafting function of the Legislature and assists with general office support, including the following duties: format and process drafting requests, resolutions, bills and amendments; help to maintain legislative tracking and information database; provide assistance in proofreading of legislative documents; and from time to time assist with other projects in support of the Legislature's activities.

Candidates should have excellent office and technical skills, and an ability to work well with office colleagues, attorney staff, legislative members and the public. The job requires some overtime work during the legislative session. Compensation depends upon qualifications and experience.
