Committee organization, elect co-chairs and review committee’s jurisdiction

Meeting convened on May 11, 2007.  Members of the committee voted to have Sen. Douglas Racine and Rep. Michael Fisher as co-chairs of the Mental Health Oversight Committee.

Members discussed the requirements of the committee stating that the committee’s task is to ensure that there is comprehensive and a continuum of care for services within the mental health systems in the state of Vermont and that the committee’s authority is to have oversight on policy over the mental health systems and to make recommendations to the appropriate legislative standing committees.
