Whereas, the Essex High School Hornets’ cheerleaders began their 2007–2008 season desirous of making their best effort to return to the championship status they held for many years in the past, and

Whereas, the Hornets’ enticing musical themes, along with their accompanying intricate and agile routines featuring precision timing, contributed to the judges’ decision to award the Hornets’ the top Division I score of 186 out of a possible 200 points, 18 more than their nearest competitor Rutland High School, and the highest score of all the teams, in every division, that competed that day, and

Whereas, the many enthusiastic Essex fans gathered at the champion site gave their team thunderous applause on the completion of the Hornets’ rousing cheers, and they were thrilled when their hometown team won the state championship, and

Whereas, the 2008 cheerleading Hornets, including Autumn Brugger, Abbie Desrochers, Kimberly Dion, Teeshia Farmer, Becca Frost, Casey Lynn Gilmond, Erin Hoehl, Hannah Morrett, Sara Oesterle, Amanda Peck, Hannah Puisto, Taylor Troville, Emily Whitehead, Tashaw Woodworth, Marian Yandow, and Sarah Yandow, began a new history of Hornet cheerleading championships, and
