House concurrent resolution honoring Donna Hogan of Rutland for her leadership roles at the Vermont Grocers’ Association and in her community

Offered by:  Representatives Courcelle of Rutland City, Sweaney of Windsor, Andrews of Rutland City, Howard of Rutland City and McCormack of Rutland City

Whereas, as a staff member at the Vermont Grocers’ Association (VGA) for over three decades, and in her many community volunteer roles, Donna Hogan of Rutland has exhibited strong leadership skills and a simultaneous ability to work collaboratively with her colleagues, and

Whereas, during her career at the VGA, she has become a respected member of the organization and has been assigned important internal and external responsibilities, and

Whereas, most recently, Donna Hogan has served as the VGA’s director of communications and events, and in this role oversaw all of the association’s publications, organized VGA events, including the annual meeting, expo, and golf tournament, coordinated the scholarship program, and represented the VGA at state and regional trade shows and other promotional and marketing meetings, and

Whereas, Donna Hogan was always striving to do the best possible job for the VGA team while exploring new marketing opportunities for the association, and

Whereas, in the Rutland community, Donna Hogan has been associated with many worthy organizations, including the Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, the March of Dimes, Rutland Amateur Youth Hockey, and the Paramount Theatre, and

Whereas, she has served as youth program director at the Sara Holbrook Center and was recognized for this service when she was presented the Sara Holbrook Youth Award, and

Whereas, Donna Hogan’s strong commitment to Catholic youth education led to her service as director of CCD programs for the parish churches in Rutland City, and

Whereas, after a productive and fulfilling career at the VGA, Donna Hogan will be retiring shortly and looks forward to spending time with her sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Mary Patricia, Brian and Jennifer, and Patrick and Pamela, and her four grandchildren, and enjoying her favorite hobby, gardening, now therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:

That the General Assembly recognizes Donna Hogan for her leadership roles at the Vermont Grocers’ Association and in her community, and be it further

Resolved:  That the secretary of state be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Donna Hogan in Rutland.
