Joint Concurrent House Resolution

H.C.R.  91

House concurrent resolution congratulating the 2007 Vergennes Union High School Commodores Division II championship cheerleading team

Whereas, the Vergennes Union High School Commodores cheerleaders, having been crowned the 2006 Division II champions, were prepared to return to the competitive mats for another season of rousing performances, and

Whereas, the Commodores selected the musical accompaniment for their intricate routines, practiced each move to assure that its timing was on target, and garnered a maximum amount of enthusiasm to be certain that each team member presented the cheeriest possible persona when rooting for the home team, and

Whereas, this experienced and well-rehearsed group of high school cheerleaders entered the 2007 state championship tournament with high expectations, and

Whereas, the judges recognized immediately that the Commodore cheerleaders were tops among the Division II entrants as they topped their nearest competitors by a 21-point margin, and

Whereas, this superb team of proficient cheerleaders whose combined talents proved unbeatable consisted of seniors Kim Worley, Ashley Bushnell, Whitney Denny, Heather Marcelle, Amber Braun, and Alexis LaBerge; juniors Jenny Johnson, Belinda Hall, Lilli Allen, Alison Predom, Lily Maxham, Grace Lange, Kelli Cogger, Aly Kilbride, and Jacky Schoonmaker; and sophomore Dana O’Brien, and

Whereas, the team’s success would not have been possible without the dedicated leadership of coach Debra Hall, now therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:

That the General Assembly congratulates the 2007 Vergennes Union High School Commodores Division II championship cheerleading team, and be it further

Resolved:  That the secretary of state be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Debra Hall at Vergennes Union High School.
