The Senate was called to order by the President.

Devotional Exercises

Devotional exercises were conducted by the Reverend Robin Junker of Randolph.

Pledge of Allegiance

Page Nickolas Johnson then led the members of the Senate in the pledge of allegiance.

Rules Suspended; Committee Relieved of Further Consideration; Bills Committed

S. 212.

On motion of Senator Racine, the rules were suspended, and S. 212 was taken up for immediate consideration, for the purpose of relieving the Committee on Health and Welfare from further consideration of the bill. Thereupon, on motion of Senator Racine, the Committee on Health and Welfare was relieved of Senate bill entitled:

An act relating to limited temporary licenses for podiatrists,

and the bill was committed to the Committee on Government Operations.

S. 276.

On motion of Senator Racine, the rules were suspended, and S. 276 was taken up for immediate consideration, for the purpose of relieving the Committee on Health and Welfare from further consideration of the bill. Thereupon, on motion of Senator Racine, the Committee on Health and Welfare was relieved of Senate bill entitled:

An act relating to nursing and military service,

and the bill was committed to the Committee on Government Operations.

S. 329.

On motion of Senator Racine, the rules were suspended, and S. 329 was taken up for immediate consideration, for the purpose of relieving the Committee on Health and Welfare from further consideration of the bill. Thereupon, on motion of Senator Racine, the Committee on Health and Welfare was relieved of Senate bill entitled:

An act relating to the regulation of sexual assault nurse examiners,

and the bill was committed to the Committee on Government Operations.

Bills Passed

Senate bills of the following titles were severally read the third time and passed:

S. 200.

An act relating to establishing a construction trust fund.

S. 227.

An act relating to angel investors.

Bills Passed in Concurrence with Proposal of Amendment

House bills of the following titles were severally read the third time and passed in concurrence with proposal of amendment:

H. 580.

An act relating to terms of members of the Vermont tobacco evaluation and review board.

H. 750.

An act relating to prescription drug pricing and information.

Consideration Postponed

Senate bills entitled:

S. 290.

An act relating to agricultural water quality financing.

S. 291.

An act relating to the farm agronomic practices program at the agency of agriculture, food and markets.

Were taken up.

Thereupon, without objection consideration of the bills was postponed until the next legislative day.


Adjournment

On motion of Senator Shumlin, the Senate adjourned until one o’clock and thirty minutes in the afternoon on Wednesday, February 20, 2008.
