The Senate was called to order by the President.

Devotional Exercises

Devotional exercises were conducted by the Reverend Wendy Manley of Montpelier.

Pledge of Allegiance

Page Caitlan Duffy then led the members of the Senate in the pledge of allegiance.

Bills Introduced

Senate bills of the following titles were severally introduced, read the first time and referred:

S. 62.

By Senators Ayer, Bartlett, Campbell and Giard,

An act relating to continuation of group coverage following divorce without premium increase.

To the Committee on Finance.

S. 63.

By Senators Snelling, Ayer, Bartlett, Condos, Flanagan, Lyons, McCormack, Miller, Racine, Shumlin and White,

An act relating to patient choice and control to end of life.

To the Committee on Health and Welfare.

S. 64.

By Senators Doyle, Cummings and Scott,

An act relating to income taxation of certain lottery proceeds.

To the Committee on Finance.

S. 65.

By Senator MacDonald,

An act relating to auto insurance policy provisions for a replacement vehicle.

To the Committee on Finance.

Bills Passed

Senate bills of the following titles were read the third time and passed:

An act relating to motor vehicles, snowmobiles, motorboats, and all-terrain vehicles.

An act relating to motor vehicles.

S. 54.

An act relating to motor vehicle wreckers.

Message from the House No. 13

     A message was received from the House of Representatives by Ms. Wrask, its Second Assistant Clerk, as follows:

Mr. President:

     I am directed to inform the Senate the House has passed bills of the following titles:

     H. 19.  An act relating to approval of amendment to the charter of the city of St. Albans.

     H. 23.  An act relating to approval of amendments to the charter of the town of Stowe.

In the passage of which the concurrence of the Senate is requested.

     The House has adopted concurrent resolutions of the following titles:

     H.C.R. 22.  Concurrent resolution honoring the medical career of Dr. Gilles Bouchard of Stanstead, Quebec.

     H.C.R. 23.  Concurrent resolution honoring the Republic of Vermont Celebration – Windsor Heritage Days as the 2007 official Vermont celebration of Vermont’s independence.


On motion of Senator Shumlin, the Senate adjourned until one o’clock and thirty minutes in the afternoon on Wednesday, January 31, 2007.
