AN ACT RELATING TO AUTHORITY TO LEASE THE STATE LOTTERY
It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
Sec. 1. STATE LOTTERY; LEASE OR TRANSFER; PRIOR APPROVAL
OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY REQUIRED
(a) No lease, sale, or transfer of any interest in, or authority to operate in whole or in part, any aspect of a lottery now operated by the Vermont state lottery commission, as created by chapter 14 of Title 31, shall be valid without the prior approval of the general assembly.
(b) This act shall not apply to any contract entered into by the director of the Vermont state lottery commission to enable the discharge of his or her duties as set forth in 31 V.S.A. §§ 656 and 657, or to the authority of the Vermont State Lottery Commission to operate and administer Tri-State Lotto as authorized by subchapter 2 of chapter 14 of Title 31, or to the authority to offer and provide multijurisdictional lottery games as set forth in 31 V.S.A. § 654a.
Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE
This bill shall take effect upon passage.
