Statement of purpose:  This bill proposes to allow a local legislative body to appoint an energy coordinator without a town vote, and to allow the local legislative body to determine the length of term for an energy coordinator.

AN ACT RELATING TO APPOINTMENTS AND TERMS FOR ENERGY COORDINATORS

It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:

Sec. 1.  24 V.S.A. § 1131 is amended to read:

§ 1131.  ENERGY COORDINATOR; DUTIES

(a)  At an annual meeting warned for that purpose, a town may authorize the selectmen to The legislative body of a municipality may appoint for a one year, and determine the length of term for, an energy coordinator.

(d)  An energy coordinator shall make periodic reports of his or her activities to the selectmen legislative body as they it may require and may perform such other duties, studies, or examinations as may be required by the selectmen legislative body.
