Subject:  Conservation and development; Missisquoi rail trail; annual state appropriations

Statement of purpose:  This bill proposes to require the state of Vermont to appropriate annually sufficient funds to maintain the 26.4‑mile Missisquoi rail trail, from the intersection of Routes 7 and 105 in St. Albans to Troy Street in Richford.  The state shall be required to maintain the trail at a general maximum grade of three percent, subject to higher grades at road crossings, at a width of 10 feet and of four feet at the closed gates, and with a crushed limestone surface except for an existing 1/3‑mile‑long asphalt segment in the village of Enosburg Falls.
