Subject:  Recreation; Green Mountain Passport

Statement of purpose:  This bill proposes to expand eligibility for a Green Mountain Passport to any resident of the state who is at least 60 percent disabled as a result of disease or injury.

AN ACT RELATING TO ELIGIBILITY FOR A GREEN MOUNTAIN PASSPORT

It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:

Sec. 1.  31 V.S.A. § 1002(a) is amended to read:

(a)  Any person is eligible to obtain a Green Mountain Passport who:

(1)  is:

(A)  at least 62 years of age; or

(B)  totally at least 60 percent disabled as the result of disease or injury suffered while serving in the armed forces; or

(C)  a resident of the Vermont Veteran’s Home in Bennington; and

(2)  is a resident of the state.
