Subject: Public property and supplies; purchasing; American flags
Statement of purpose: This bill proposes to require that state agencies, when purchasing an American flag, purchase a flag made in the United States.
AN ACT RELATING TO STATE PURCHASING OF
AMERICAN-MADE AMERICAN FLAGS
It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
Sec. 1. 29 V.S.A. § 903(h) is added to read:
(h) Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the commissioner of buildings and general services, when purchasing American flags for state use, shall purchase only those flags that are made in the United States.
