Subject: Fish and wildlife; game; regular deer season; blaze orange
Statement of purpose: This bill proposes to require a person hunting during regular deer season to wear blaze orange.
AN ACT RELATING TO REQUIRING WEARING OF BLAZE ORANGE DURING REGULAR DEER SEASON
It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
Sec. 1. 10 V.S.A. § 4741 is amended to read:
§ 4741. REGULAR DEER SEASON
(a) For the 16 consecutive calendar days commencing 12 days prior to Thanksgiving day, a person may take by lawful means wild deer as prescribed by the Vermont fish and wildlife regulations.
(b) A person hunting under this section shall wear a fluorescent orange jacket, vest, or hat which is a minimum of 500 square inches in size and is clearly visible from all sides for a reasonable distance.
