Statement of purpose: This bill proposes to require state agencies to notify municipalities when the agency grants a license or permit, or determines a violation of a license or permit has occurred, that involves the use of real property.
AN ACT RELATING TO REQUIRING STATE AGENCIES TO NOTIFY MUNICIPALITIES OF LICENSES, PERMITS, AND VIOLATIONS INVOLVING THE USE OF REAL PROPERTY
It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
Sec. 1. 3 V.S.A. § 814(e) is added to read:
(e) A state agency that grants or issues a license or permit involving the use of real property, or that determines a violation of the terms or conditions of a license or permit has occurred that involves the use of real property, shall provide written notice of the license, permit, or violation to the clerk of the municipality in which the property is located. The clerk shall file the notice in the land records of the municipality pursuant to section 1154 of Title 24.
