Subject: Executive; natural resources; permit handbook; demolition permits
Statement of purpose: This bill proposes to require that the permit handbook prepared by the agency of natural resources contain a segment prepared in conjunction with the department of health that identifies permits, including those issued by the department of health, that may be required of a person about to commence building demolition.
AN ACT RELATING TO ASSURING THAT THE AGENCY OF NATURAL RESOURCES’ PERMIT HANDBOOK IDENTIFY PERMITS REQUIRED FOR BUILDING DEMOLITION
It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
Sec. 1. 3 V.S.A. § 2826(b) is amended to read:
(b) By January 1, 1995, the secretary shall publish a permit handbook which lists all of the permits required for the programs administered by the department of environmental conservation. The handbook shall include examples of activities that require certain permits, an explanation in lay terms of each of the permitting programs involved, and the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of the person or persons to contact for further information for each of the permitting programs. The handbook shall be updated, periodically. The handbook shall include a segment prepared in conjunction with the department of health that identifies permits, including health department permits, that may be required of a person about to engage in building demolition, and that provides other information specified in this subsection.
