Subject: Motor vehicles; operator's license fee waiver; anatomical gift
Statement of purpose: This bill proposes that a person shall be exempt from the motor vehicle license operator’s fee if, when applying for or renewing a motor vehicle operator’s license, he or she requests the department of motor vehicles to place an anatomical gift document on the reverse side of a license.
AN ACT RELATING TO ANATOMICAL GIFTS AND DRIVER LICENSE FEES
It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
Sec. 1. 23 V.S.A. § 608a is added to read:
§ 608a. ANATOMICAL GIFT EXEMPTION
A person 18 years of age or older shall not be charged the fee provided for under subsection 608(a) of this title if the person, when applying for or renewing a motor vehicle operator’s license, requests that an anatomical gift document be placed on the reverse side of the license in accordance with subsections 5239(b) and (c) of Title 18.
