Subject: Public safety; fireworks; prohibitions
Statement of purpose: This bill proposes to prohibit the selling of fireworks to a person who does not have, or does not present upon sale, a permit from the local fire and police chiefs.
AN ACT RELATING TO THE SALE OF FIREWORKS
It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
Sec. 1. 20 V.S.A. § 3132(a) is amended to read:
(a) Except as provided in this section, it shall be unlawful for any person, firm, co-partnership, or corporation to do any of the following:

(6) Offer for sale or sell fireworks to a person unless that person is in possession of a permit to display fireworks pursuant to subsection (c) of this section and presents that permit at the time of sale.
