Subject: Elections; campaign finance; robotic telephone calls; prohibition
Statement of purpose: This bill proposes to prohibit the use of robotic telephone calls that support or oppose a candidate for elected office.
AN ACT RELATING TO PROHIBITING THE USE OF ROBOTIC TELEPHONE CALLS THAT SUPPORT OR OPPOSE A CANDIDATE FOR ELECTED OFFICE
It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
Sec. 1. 17 V.S.A. § 2894 is added to read:
§ 2894. USE OF ROBOTIC TELEPHONE CALLS; PROHIBITION
No electioneering communication may be made by robotic telephone call.
