Subject:  Human services; home heating fuel assistance  

Statement of purpose:  This bill proposes to require the agency of human services to report to the house committee on human services and the senate committee on health and welfare by January 15, 2008 with a recommendation as to whether the income eligibility requirements of the state fuel assistance program should be amended to increase the $150.00 income deduction for elderly and disabled persons.  The report shall include a recommendation as to whether and to what amount the deduction should be increased, how much the recommendation would cost, how many current fuel assistance beneficiaries would qualify for the deduction, and how many additional households would be eligible for fuel assistance under the recommended eligibility requirements.

AN ACT RELATING TO AN AGENCY OF HUMAN SERVICES REPORT ON INCREASING THE INCOME DEDUCTION FOR ELDERLY AND DISABLED PERSONS

It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
