Introduced by Representative Winters of Williamstown
Subject: General provisions; state colors; green and gold
Statement of purpose: This bill proposes to designate the colors green and gold as the Vermont state colors.
AN ACT RELATING TO DESIGNATING THE VERMONT STATE COLORS
It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
Sec. 1. FINDINGS
The colors green and gold have an historic association with Vermont that dates to the era of Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys. These colors have continued to be associated with the state in many forms. It is therefore appropriate to designate the colors green and gold as the official state colors.
Sec. 2. 1 V.S.A. § 516 is added to read:
§ 516. State colors
The state colors shall be green and gold.
