Subject: Municipal government; municipal charters; town of Bradford
Statement of purpose: This bill proposes to approve an amendment to the charter of the town of Bradford relating to officers of the town.
AN ACT RELATING TO APPROVAL OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE CHARTER OF THE TOWN OF BRADFORD
It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
Sec. 1. CHARTER APPROVAL
The general assembly approves the amendments to the charter of the Town of Bradford as provided in this act. The proposals of amendment was approved by the voters on November 7, 2006.
Sec. 2. 24 V.S.A. App. chapter 106, § 202 is amended to read:
§ 202. Officers
The town of Bradford shall have the officers as provided for towns by the
general laws , except as provided by this section. (b)
The town of Bradford shall have a three-member selectboard the members of which
shall be elected for terms of three years, except at the first town meeting of
the merged town, the members of the selectboard shall be elected as described
in section 109 of this chapter.
Sec. 3. EFFECTIVE DATE
This act shall take effect upon passage.
