Subject:  Professions and occupations; nursing; Vermont state board of nursing; complaints; investigations; process

Statement of purpose:  This bill proposes to improve the process whereby the Vermont state board of nursing investigates complaints by requiring the board to: (1)  give due consideration to the testimony of the complainant; (2)  provide the complainant an opportunity to refute the testimony of the respondent;

(3)  provide the complainant a list of all persons interviewed by an investigator; and (4)  provide the complainant with a copy of any recommended stipulation and consent agreement.

AN ACT RELATING TO COMPLAINTS BEFORE THE VERMONT STATE BOARD OF NURSING

It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
