Statement of purpose:  This bill proposes to provide an appropriation to the Bennington Chamber of Commerce for the costs incurred in the selection, transportation, and provision of a Vermont tree to serve as the national Christmas tree in Washington, D.C. in December 2007.

AN ACT RELATING TO AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE SELECTION AND PROVISION OF A NATIONAL CHRISTMAS TREE

It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:

Sec. 1.  APPROPRIATION; NATIONAL CHRISTMAS TREE

There is appropriated to the Bennington Chamber of Commerce from the general fund in fiscal year 2008 the amount of $25,000.00 for the costs incurred in the selection, transportation, and provision of a Vermont tree to serve as the national Christmas tree in Washington, D.C. in December 2007.
