AN ACT RELATING TO APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO THE TOWN OF WINDSOR FOR THE WINDSOR HERITAGE DAYS COMMEMORATIVE OBSERVANCES
It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
Sec. 1. FINDINGS
The general assembly finds that the convening of a constitutional convention at Windsor in July 1777, resulting in the establishment of the Republic of Vermont and the adoption of the original Vermont constitution, was the most historically significant event in the history of the state. In order to celebrate and commemorate the Windsor convention of 1777, each July, an outstanding series of educational and entertainment events known as Windsor Heritage Days occurs in the town of Windsor. These commemorative observances are an event of statewide significance and merit the financial support of the general assembly.
Sec. 2. APPROPRIATION
There is appropriated from the general fund the amount of $15,000.00 to the town of Windsor for the purpose of defraying expenses associated with the holding of the 2007 Windsor Heritage Days commemorative observances.
