Subject: Conservation and development; protection of navigable waters; water skiing
Statement of purpose: This bill proposes to require the natural resources board to adopt rules regarding the use of the public waters for water‑skiing courses.
AN ACT RELATING TO THE PLACEMENT OF WATER‑SKIING COURSES
It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
Sec. 1. 10 V.S.A. § 1424(g) is added to read:
(g) Under subsection (a) of this section, the board shall establish rules regarding the use of the public waters for water‑skiing courses. The rules shall address the placement of water‑skiing courses, the mitigation of noise from water‑skiing courses, and the limiting of water‑skiing in navigable waters in order to prevent the spread of Eurasian milfoil or other aquatic nuisance species.
