Subject:  Motor vehicles; bicycles; registration; penalties

Statement of purpose:  This bill proposes to require all persons who operate a bicycle on a public highway to register the bicycle at an annual fee of $15.00, or a one-month fee of $8.00, and it proposes to provide for a $200.00 penalty for operating a bicycle in violation of the state law that requires persons to ride on the far right side of a highway and prohibits riding more than two abreast.

It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
