NO. R-470. SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING WVMT RADIO’S CHARLIE AND ERNIE IN THE MORNING ON THE RADIO PROGRAM’S 10TH ANNIVERSARY.

Whereas, in 2008, the standard AM dial’s daily competition includes not only its competitor of many decades, the FM dial, but newer technologies such as Internet audio streaming and satellite radio, and
Whereas, despite the scope and technological advancement embodied in these new media, AM radio remains the preferred audio choice for tens of thousands of listeners who tune to its frequencies every day for news, sports, weather, a diverse mix of musical genres, and engaging conversation in which the listener is often a participant, and
Whereas, in the Burlington-Plattsburgh radio market, one of the primary reasons to keep your AM radio turned on, and the dial set at 620 WVMT, is Charlie and Ernie In The Morning, starring Charlie Papillo, and his radio pal and veteran broadcaster, Ernie Farrar, and
Whereas, they wake up Chittenden, Franklin and nearby New York state counties each weekday morning with their unique combination of fun, gab, incisive commentary, caller contributions and all the necessary information one needs to face the world at the start of a new day, and
Whereas, this rollicking duo of radio buddies is celebrating a most auspicious occasion on Friday, April 18, 2008, when they observe the 10th anniversary of the Charlie and Ernie In The Morning radio show on WVMT, and
Whereas, listeners will assuredly hear a special anniversary broadcast that is the radio equivalent of a grand celebration, and clearly a party that must not be missed, and
Whereas, the 10th anniversary of Charlie and Ernie In The Morning on WVMT marks an unparalleled milestone in the history of radio broadcasting in Vermont, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly is thrilled to congratulate WVMT’s Charlie and Ernie In The Morning, and its two wonderful stars, Charlie Papillo and Ernie Farrar, on the radio program’s 10th anniversary, and be it further
Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Charlie Papillo and Ernie Farrar at WVMT radio in Colchester.
