NO. R-308. House concurrent resolution honoring Laurence Rossi for his civic service in the town of Woodbury.

Whereas, the town of Woodbury in northern Washington County is a rural community that is proud of its citizen-based municipal government, and
Whereas, one of the town’s most respected citizen leaders is Laurence Rossi who has served in various posts for over two decades, and
Whereas, Laurence Rossi was first elected to the Woodbury selectboard in 1986, and
Whereas, in light of the integrity of his municipal public service, and the wise decision‑making he had exhibited as a member of the selectboard, there was more than sufficient justification for his fellow board members to select him as their chair in 2002, and for the past six years, the Woodbury selectboard has been well served with Laurence Rossi as its chair, and
Whereas, the citizens of Woodbury have also benefited from Laurence Rossi’s service since 1996 as a justice of the peace and for the last six years as the town’s all-important fence sitter, and
Whereas, on town meeting day 2008, Laurence Rossi will be concluding his tenure on the Woodbury selectboard and as its chair, and
Whereas, the citizens of Woodbury have appreciated his dedicated municipal public service, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly honors Laurence Rossi for his civic service in the town of Woodbury, and be it further
Resolved: That the secretary of state be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Laurence Rossi in Woodbury.
