House concurrent resolution congratulating the Bellows Free Academy Bullets 2007 Division III championship boys’ cross-country team

Offered by:  Representatives Branagan of Georgia and Gilbert of Fairfax

Whereas, Bellows Free Academy (BFA)-Fairfax has been a leader in boys’ cross-country competition, having previously captured two Division III championship titles in the past four years, and

Whereas, after placing second in the 2006 championship race behind Thetford Academy, the Bullets were motivated to redeem themselves this past October, and the Thetford Academy course, site of the 2007 championship, provided the ideal setting for the Bullets’ comeback, and

Whereas, on the day of the big race, the Thetford course was muddied due to recent inclement weather, presenting a challenge that all competitors were forced to confront, and

Whereas, when the race concluded, the Bullets had the lowest Division III point total, the objective in cross-country competition, and had defeated second place People’s Academy 24-27 while Thetford trailed at third overall with 37 points, and

Whereas, the future outlook for BFA-Fairfax boys’ cross-country running is promising as the team’s top three individual finishers at the Thetford championship, Dustin Hayes (3rd), Kyle Bochanski (4th), and Jeremy Lawrence (6th), are all sophomores, and

Whereas, each running Bullet on the 2007 BFA-Fairfax cross-country team, including Isaac Barbour, Andrew Phillips, Joel Pfansteil, Todd Stanley, Noey Ampommawarat, Joseph Gregoire, Jake Pfeiffer, Jacob Gottschalk, Keith Rabidoux, Zach Bochanski, Kyle Bochanski, Lukas Lariviere, Kody White, Anders Newbury, Dustin Hayes, Dakota Senesac, Brad Stanley, Simon Mann‑Gow, Jeremy Lawrence, Max Sloan, Daniel Lawrence, Steven Leach, and Zach Machia, contributed to the team’s 2007 success, and

Whereas, coach Fred Griffin and assistant coach Tom Pfeiffer instructed their runners in the fine points of this sport that combines both individual dedication and support from fellow team members, now therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
