NO. R-240. House concurrent resolution congratulating Becky Auger on being named the 2008 Vermont-NEA Education Support Professional of the Year.

Whereas, for the past nine years, Becky Auger has worked as a paraeducator for students in grades 3 through 6 at the Moretown Elementary School, and
Whereas, Becky Auger’s ingenuity relating to students is readily apparent, and
Whereas, her dedication to her students and school extends beyond her traditional classroom duties, and these further roles include service as the cataloguer of student photographs and director of the school’s annual field day, and
Whereas, colleagues at Moretown Elementary School have long recognized Becky Auger as a classroom leader who has enhanced the school’s educational environment and is one of the para-educators who lead the school’s literacy program, and
Whereas, her teaching peers regard Becky Auger with such high esteem that they nominated her for special recognition as the 2008 Vermont-NEA Education Support Professional of the Year, and
Whereas, the jury for this prestigious honor agreed with this assessment and named Becky Auger as the award’s 2008 recipient, and
Whereas, in her role as the Green Mountain State’s honoree, Becky Auger will represent Vermont at the National Education Association program, to be held in Baltimore in March 2008, recognizing every state’s winner of this award, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly congratulates Becky Auger on being named the 2008 Vermont-NEA Education Support Professional of the Year, and be it further
Resolved: That the secretary of state be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Becky Auger at Moretown Elementary School.
