Whereas, Gladys Walker has resided in the town of Weston since her birth on July 25, 1907, and
Whereas, during her lifetime, she has earned the respect and admiration of the citizens of Weston through her participation in many good works, and
Whereas, she and her two brothers (both now deceased), one of whom was her twin, were always comforted, knowing that they had many loyal friends in town on whom they could rely when needed, and
Whereas, Wednesday, July 25, 2007, marks a special moment in the life of Gladys Walker as it is the day marking the 100th anniversary of her birth, and
Whereas, this personal milestone deserves special recognition, and her friends will be commemorating this momentous occasion with a special celebration in Weston, and
Whereas, the members of the Vermont legislature are delighted to join with those near and dear to Gladys Walker in expressing their most joyous birthday wishes, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly congratulates Gladys Walker of Weston on her 100th birthday and wishes her much happiness as she celebrates this special day, and be it further
Resolved: That the secretary of state be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Gladys Walker in Weston.
