NO. R-226.  House concurrent resolution honoring Roger Gendron for his public service on behalf of the citizens of Richford.

Whereas, Roger Gendron was born in Richford where he continues to reside on a farm that he owns and operates and began to work on as a teenager, and

Whereas, he has a deep appreciation for his hometown, and he is committed to improving Richford’s economic well-being and pursuing public policies that are in the municipality’s best interests, and

Whereas, he has served the community in a number of public roles over the course of several decades, and

Whereas, for most of his adult life, Roger Gendron has been a vital and active member of the Richford volunteer firefighting force, and

Whereas, for a significant number of years, he has been responsible for the maintenance of the town’s highways throughout the seasons as the Richford road commissioner, and

Whereas, from 1983 until his voluntary retirement in 2007, Roger Gendron brought his extensive familiarity with issues facing the town to the decision‑making table as a member of the Richford selectboard, and

Whereas, his role on the selectboard was constructive and contributed to efficient and wise decision-making on matters of local governance, and

Whereas, his example of community service will serve as a model for others to emulate, now therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:

That the General Assembly honors Roger Gendron for his public service on behalf of the citizens of Richford, and be it further

Resolved:  That the secretary of state be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Roger Gendron in Richford and to the Richford selectboard.
