NO. R-92.  House concurrent resolution honoring Mary Lou Raymo for her superb public service in the town of Dover.

Whereas, Mary Lou Raymo has devoted three decades to serving the town of Dover and assuring that its municipal affairs are always in order, and

Whereas, she was born and raised in Dover, residing on Holland Road where her parents, William and Dorothy Holland, operated the last surviving dairy farm in town, and

Whereas, after graduating from high school, Mary Lou Holland married her sweetheart, Jim Raymo, and they are now the parents of three grown daughters, and

Whereas, the town of Dover first benefited from Mary Lou Raymo’s meticulous attention to detail when she assumed the position of auditor, and

Whereas, the excellent quality of her work as town auditor resulted in Mary Lou Raymo’s being appointed to the dual offices of assistant clerk and assistant treasurer, and

Whereas, in 1987, the voters of Dover, having come to appreciate her outstanding job performance in the assistants’ positions, elected Mary Lou Raymo to the offices of town clerk and treasurer which she has exercised faithfully and responsibly ever since, and

Whereas, Mary Lou Raymo has taken her job seriously and completed the courses for certification as both a town clerk and treasurer, and

Whereas, the Dover annual town reports are documents that dazzle the reader as Mary Lou Raymo has applied her considerable artistic talents to the beautiful covers that often feature local Dover buildings, and she has edited the reports with such great flair and style that they have been awarded prizes as among the best in the state, and

Whereas, Mary Lou Raymo, a passionate genealogist and avid town historian, is a member of both the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Dover Historical Society, and

Whereas, she takes great pride in her neighbors having elected her to offices of great trust and is known to spend weekends and holidays at work to be certain that all municipal matters are addressed in full, and

Whereas, after 30 years serving as a Dover town official, Mary Lou Raymo has decided to retire and enjoy more time to pursue her genealogical hobby and be with her family, now therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:

That the General Assembly honors Mary Lou Raymo for her three decades of superb public service in the town of Dover, and be it further

Resolved:  That the secretary of state be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Mary Lou Raymo in Dover.
