ACT NO. 96
This act consolidates administration of the management of public records within the office of the secretary of state in a new program to be known as the Vermont archives and records administration. The records management authority of the department of buildings and general services is repealed. The Vermont archives and records administration is charged with administering a records management program for state government. The director of the Vermont archives and records administration shall be the state archivist, and the secretary of state shall adopt policies and procedures necessary to implement the records management program. The Vermont archives and records administration shall approve all state agency record schedules.
Effective Date: March 25, 2008.
