Conservation; water pollution; phosphorus use in dishwashers
This act requires household cleansing products sold in the state for use in residential dishwashers to contain no more than a trace concentration of phosphorus. As of July 1, 2010, the act prohibits the sale of a household cleansing product for use in residential dishwashers when the product contains more than a trace quantity of phosphorus. In addition, the act clarifies current prohibitions on the sale of household cleansing products for commercial dishwasher use or for other household use.
Effective Date: The act goes into effect July 1, 2007. Under the act, the prohibition on the retail or wholesale sale of household cleansing products used in residential dishwashers goes into effect July 1, 2010.
