ACT NO. 10
Home-fermented beverage; competitions
This act clarifies the provisions that permit competitions involving
home-fermented beverages. The clarifications include prohibiting the sale to the public of the beverages in the competition, requiring that unused home-fermented beverages be disposed of by the permit holder, and requiring that the names of the judges be provided on the required notice of the event.
The act also rewrites the provisions relating to an event for educational sampling of alcoholic beverages in order to improve the organization of that section without changing its substance.
Finally, the act requires the department of liquor control to conduct a study and issue a report on January 15, 2008, offering recommendations for a process that will permit commercial caterers to acquire a license to serve alcoholic beverages in conjunction with a catered event without compromising enforcement.
