Joint Concurrent House Resolution


H.C.R.  138

House concurrent resolution congratulating William and Scott Collins of Bennington on their receipt of awards from the Bennington Rescue Squad

Offered by:  Representatives Morrissey of Bennington, Nitka of Ludlow, Corcoran of Bennington, Krawczyk of Bennington and Mook of Bennington

Whereas, for 42 years, the Bennington Rescue Squad has provided emergency responder services to the Bennington area, and

Whereas, annually, two squad members, a rookie and a veteran, are recognized for their outstanding service in the unit’s operations, and

Whereas, in 2005, the honorees are extra special as they are a father and son, and

Whereas, the squad member of the year award was presented to William Collins who has responded to more than 7,000 calls and continues to be a mentor and leader for his colleagues, and

Whereas, the rookie of the year award winner was William’s son Scott, who has demonstrated during his first year on duty that he is following in his father’s footsteps as a dedicated and hard‑working squad member, and

Whereas, both father and son have made major contributions to the squad’s reputation for excellence and professionalism, now therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:

That the General Assembly congratulates William and Scott Collins on the receipt of their awards from the Bennington Rescue Squad, and be it further

Resolved:  That the secretary of state be directed to send copies of this resolution to William and Scott Collins in Bennington.
