Subject: State buildings; Vergennes; Northlands Job Corps Center; payments for city services
Statement of purpose: This bill proposes to require the state to pay to the city a percentage of the lease payments it receives for state-owned property in Vergennes for services provided to the property.
AN ACT RELATING TO STATE-OWNED PROPERTY IN VERGENNES
It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
Sec. 1. STATE-OWNED PROPERTY IN VERGENNES; PAYMENT FOR CITY SERVICES
Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, beginning in fiscal year 2006 the state shall pay annually to the city of Vergennes at least 60 percent of the lease payments the state receives for real property it owns in the city that is currently occupied by the Northlands Job Corps Center. In no event shall the payment to the city be less than $130,000.00 annually.
