Statement of purpose:  This bill proposes to allow a person 65 years of age or older to attend the Vermont state colleges at no cost.

AN ACT RELATING TO FREE TUITION AT THE VERMONT STATE COLLEGES FOR SENIOR CITIZENS

It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:

Sec. 1.  16 V.S.A. § 2186 is added to read:

§ 2186.  SENIOR CITIZENS; FREE TUITION

Tuition charges for any class or course of study at the Vermont state colleges shall be waived for a Vermont resident who is 65 years of age or older.
