Statement of purpose: This bill proposes to ensure that individuals caring for children of relatives will receive financial assistance without the necessity of legal action.
AN ACT RELATING TO REQUIREMENTS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR CARETAKERS OR RELATIVES OF CHILDREN
It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
Sec. 1. 33 V.S.A. § 1103(h) is added to read:
(h) A relative or caretaker with whom a child is living shall not be required to have guardianship of the child in order to qualify for assistance under this chapter.
