Subject: Weatherization program; use of funds
Statement of purpose: This bill proposes to limit the use of weatherization funds.
AN ACT RELATING TO USE OF WEATHERIZATION FUNDS
It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
Sec. 1. 33 V.S.A. § 2501(a) is amended to read:
(a) There is created in the state treasury a fund to be known as the home weatherization assistance trust fund to be expended by the director of the state office of economic opportunity in accordance with federal law and this chapter. Funds shall be used only for weatherization assistance in accordance with subsection 2502(a) of this title, enhanced weatherization assistance or fuel source conversion in accordance with subsection 2502(b) of this title, low income energy assistance in accordance with subsection 2502(e) of this title, or conservation program rebates to fuel sellers in accordance with section 2503 of this title.
