Subject: Health; Vermont health access plan; retroactivity
Statement of purpose: This bill proposes to allow Vermonters to receive coverage under the Vermont health access plan retroactively to cover medical care recently received.
AN ACT RELATING TO RETROACTIVE COVERAGE UNDER THE VERMONT HEALTH ACCESS PLAN
It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
Sec. 1. VERMONT HEALTH ACCESS PLAN COVERAGE
The agency of human services shall provide individuals with coverage for health services up to three months prior to the date of application for the Vermont health access plan.
Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE
This act shall become effective upon passage, except that the retroactive coverage shall become effective no later than October 1, 2006. Within 30 days of passage, the agency of human services shall seek any amendment of the Medicaid state plan necessary for implementation of this act.
