Subject: Fish and wildlife; hunting or fishing without a license; penalties
Statement of purpose: This bill proposes to establish that attempting to take or taking fish or wild animals during a period of license suspension may be prosecuted in district court instead of in the judicial bureau.
AN ACT RELATING TO TAKING WILD ANIMALS DURING A PERIOD OF LICENSE SUSPENSION
It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
Sec. 1. 10 V.S.A. § 4001(15) is amended to read:
(15) Wild animals or wildlife: all animals, including birds, fish, amphibians, and reptiles, other than domestic animals;
Sec. 2. 10 V.S.A. § 4280 is added to read:
§ 4280. TAKING WILDLIFE DURING A PERIOD OF LICENSE
A person shall not hunt, fish, or trap while a license or right to obtain a license is under suspension.
