Statement of purpose:  This bill proposes to require any individual or entity which enters into a personal services contract with a state agency to provide health insurance coverage to its employees for which the employees pay no more than 20 percent of the insurance premium.

AN ACT RELATING TO HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR EMPLOYEES OF STATE CONTRACTORS

It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:

Sec. 1.  3 V.S.A. § 345 is added to read:

§ 345.  CONTRACTS FOR SERVICES; EMPLOYEES; HEALTH

             INSURANCE COVERAGE

An entity or individual which enters into a personal services contract with a state agency shall provide health insurance coverage to its employees for which the employees shall pay no more than 20 percent of the premium.
