Statement of purpose: This bill proposes to allow pharmacists to be reimbursed for services provided to state pharmacy program beneficiaries.
AN ACT RELATING TO FULL REIMBURSEMENT FOR PHARMACISTS
It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
Sec. 1. PHARMACIST REIMBURSEMENT FOR RELATED HEALTH
(a) The secretary of the agency of human services shall modify the state Medicaid plan, any Medicaid waivers, and agency rules to provide reimbursement to pharmacists for health services provided to beneficiaries of Medicaid, VScript, VScript Expanded, VHAP Pharmacy, Healthy Vermonters, and Healthy Vermonters Plus if implemented. The reimbursement shall not be for the dispensing of medications if a dispensing fee is received by the pharmacist.
(b) For the purposes of this section, “health services” means any information, advice, counseling, or other service within the pharmacist’s scope of practice provided by a pharmacist to a consumer.
(c) Nothing in this act shall expand the scope of practice for pharmacists.
