Statement of purpose: This bill proposes to make the use of air shots illegal.
AN ACT RELATING TO PROHIBITING ALCOHOL WITHOUT LIQUID
It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
Sec. 1. 7 V.S.A. § 660 is added to read:
§ 660. MECHANISMS THAT ENHANCE EFFECTS OF ALCOHOL;
Any person who provides, furnishes, or uses any mechanism, device, or system that speeds the ingestion of alcohol or the intoxicating effects of alcohol, or both, to a consumer, including “air shots,” also known as “alcohol without liquid,” which is a system whereby oxygen is combined with alcohol, thereby creating a mist that is ingested and speeds the effects of the alcohol to the consumer, shall be fined no more than $2,000.00 for each offense or imprisoned no more than six months, or both. A holder of a license under this title who violates this section may also have the license revoked for no less than 30 days.
