Whereas, located in the village of Bellows Falls, Parks Place Community Resources Center (“Parks Place”) is a social service agency offering both an organized schedule of community activities and walk-in support services, and

Whereas, the organization’s service area includes the towns of Athens, Grafton, Rockingham, and Westminster, and

Whereas, Parks Place collaborates with other social service agencies, schools, and community groups to reach individuals who can benefit from its services, and

Whereas, as well as special activities, among the 32 regular programs that Parks Place offers are adult literacy, youth mentoring, employment assistance, substance abuse prevention, student assistance, court alternatives, parenting classes, and health promotion, and

Whereas, Parks Place is welcoming, convenient, and accessible, and annually, it helps thousands of individuals improve their lives through either direct one-on-one support or one of its many group activities and classes, and

Whereas, in recognition of the outstanding community support services that Parks Place offers, it was named the 1998 Vermont Social Work Agency of the Year, and

Whereas, on June 1, this vibrant and highly respected social service agency marks its tenth anniversary, now therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:

That the General Assembly congratulates Parks Place Community Resources Center on the tenth anniversary of the organization’s providing outstanding community‑based social services, and be it further

Resolved:  That the secretary of state be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Parks Place Community Resources Center in Bellows Falls
