Whereas, wrestling is a challenging sport in which participants must employ quick decision-making as they plot their strategy, and
Whereas, outstanding wrestlers from high schools across the state gathered at St. Johnsbury Academy on February 25 and 26 to participate in the state championship tournament, and
Whereas, wrestler Kyle Canton, a senior at Harwood Union High School, compiled an impressive 30-2 record prior to the tournament, and
Whereas, his season-long demonstration of wrestling proficiency earned him the top seed in the 189-pound weight class, and
Whereas, this outstanding wrestler was in top form all weekend long at St. Johnsbury and left for home the winner of a state championship title, and
Whereas, Kyle, a multitalented athlete, was also a member of the Harwood Union High School 2004 Division II track team, and
Whereas, his athletic accomplishments are to be commended, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly congratulates Kyle Canton on his winning the 2005 state wrestling championship in the 189-pound class, and be it further
Resolved: That the secretary of state be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Kyle Canton at Harwood Union High School.
