NO. R-33.  House concurrent resolution congratulating the 2004 Windsor High School Yellow Jackets Division II boys’ cross country championship team.


Offered by:  Representatives Sweaney of Windsor, Adams of Hartland and Shand of Weathersfield.

Whereas, the Windsor High School Yellow Jackets have waited for over 40 years to earn a boys’ cross country state championship, and

Whereas, at the 2004 state cross country championships, held on the grounds of Thetford Academy, the Yellow Jackets emerged as the top ranked team among the Division II contenders, and

Whereas, Windsor’s swiftness resulted from four of the five Yellow Jacket competitors finishing in at least 11th place, and

Whereas, the top individual Yellow Jacket finisher, Justin George, completed the cross country course in fourth place with a time of 17:44, and

Whereas, Yellow Jacket Sean Buckner was fifth, Reb Brassor 10th, and John Bassette 11th, and

Whereas, Kyle Ackerman, Shane Beam, Jeff Danyew, and Joel Bassette have been crucial members of the 2004 Windsor High School boys’ cross country team, and

Whereas, Coach Harry Ladue can be proud of his runners’ fast-paced accomplishments during the 2004 season, especially their clinching the Division II title, now therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:

That the General Assembly congratulates the 2004 Windsor High School Yellow Jackets Division II boys cross country championship team, and be it further

Resolved:  That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Harry Ladue at Windsor High School.
