ACT NO. 187

This act expands the Vermont Labor Relations Board from five to six members appointed by the governor. It also provides that the governor make appointments from a list of nominees deemed qualified by a Labor Board Review Panel created for this purpose. The Labor Board Review Panel is to be composed of five members, including the executive director of the Vermont Bar Association, the Commissioner of Labor, the Court Administrator, and a representative of labor and a representative of employers appointed by the Commissioner of Labor from names provided by labor organizations and employers in the state. The act also authorizes the Labor Relations Board to sit in three- or five-member hearing panels, and increases the per diem compensation provided to members of the board.
